Alice in Wonderland Follows the Rabbit to Repertory Philippines on August 17

Go on a wild rabbit chase with Alice as she follows the busy rabbit down to the hole of madness as Repertory Philippines’ Theatre for Young Audiences takes you to another colorful adventure with the staging of ALICE IN WONDERLAND.

An invitation and attendance to a Mad Hatter Tea Party press conference held last July by Repertory Philippines provided us our first glimpse into what the play would be like. Knowing how consistently spectacular and colorful were last years’ children’s plays under the masterful direction Ms. Joy Virata, it’s no stretch of the imagination to expect another blockbuster of a play. If the presscon preview was any indication of the fun-ness of this upcoming play, then I am sure all the children will have a blast. You can tell in an instant from the talents’ natural performance and smooth interaction with the others that these thespians have not given up the young child inside them.  I would even go as far to say that being child-like is still a big part of them.  And that is what makes the magic in the Repertory Philippines’ Theatre for Young Audiences come alive.

So what will we expect from this version of the timeless classic whimsical tale of Lewis Caroll?  Fun, craziness, and beautiful music is what I see.
