Christmas with the kids won't be the same without a trip to the theater. Alice in Wonderland is Repertory Children's Theater. Christmas offering for the year. If you watched Seussical or Wizard of Oz in the past, then you know what to expect. A colorful, lively stage, fun and sing-along music, interactive dialogue that may catch you child off-guard but eager to participate.
“I'm mad, you're mad, we're all mad here” Absurd, lively, funny, yet very insightful, the story of Alice in Wonderland by Repertory Children's Theater conttinues to enthrall the young and the not-so-young audience since August 17 until December 15, 2013. This timeless and whimsical story by Lewis Caroll is presented at Onstage, 2F Greenbelt 1, Paseo de Roxas, Makati City. If you still haven't seen it, you still have time to catch this family-bonding show.
The veteral theater actors can more than deliver the fantasy and llight-heartedness of the play. That comes as no surprise. But the natural, stand-out performance of the young lead actress is what made me take notice. The role of Alice had to be a child actress who had to level up just to match the skills of the older veterans so as not to be overshadowed. And the demands of the role kept her on stage most of the time with hardly intervals in the performance. Without a doubt, Daniella Gana played the role flawlessly as her performance was quite credible.
Memorable scenes such as the madhatter party, as well as the game of croquette with the scary queen, would keep your child focused even if they had attention-deficit problems. A lively, wholesome, and interactive play that speaks the language of the child, Alice in Wonderland is truly hilarious for its confusing and ridiculously funny dialogue. Let your child be the judge, but I am sure the child in every adult will agree too.
The cast is composed of the following: Dani Gana and Chaye Mogg (Alice), Nacho Tambunting, Jim Ferrer and Reb Atadero (Rabbit), Liesl Batucan (Duchess), Bituin Escalante and Natalie Everett (Queen of Hearts), Becca Coates and Janine Tolentino (Storyteller / Flora), Rachel Coates and Marie Delgado (Storyteller / Dora), Oliver Usison and Kendrick Ibasco (Walrus / King of Hearts), Nic Campos and Joel Trinidad (French Mouse / Carpenter / Mad Hatter), Onyl Torres and James Stacey (Caterpillar / March Hare), Antonio Lane and Jay Pangilinan (Mock Turtle), Reymund Domingo and Khevin Almario (Duck / Kettle), Edward Briones (Lory / Baby), Dingdong Rosales (Lory / Baby / Tweedledum), Josh Ramirez and Chino Veguillas (Dodo / Tweedledee / Doormouse), Shalee Vicencio and Gold Soon (Moon / Court Member), Ina Salonga (Tears / Court Member), Kyla Rivera (Tears / Oyster / Door), Clark Francis dela Riva and Bobby Superales (Door / Oyster) and Bym Buhain (Door / Tweedledum).
